Collaboration within a team to support project management **Cost Estimation Engineer** **Job Title:** Cost Estimation Engineer **Job Summary:** A Cost Estimation Engineer prepares and analyzes project cost estimates with high accuracy by reviewing drawings, specifications, and technical data, aiming to support pricing decisions, enhance competitiveness, and ensure organizational profitability. **Responsibilities and Duties:** * Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates for projects (CAPEX / OPEX). * Analyze engineering drawings and Bills of Quantities (BOQ). * Calculate quantities of materials, labor, equipment, and associated costs. * Prepare and price tenders and bids according to client requirements. * Review supplier and contractor proposals and conduct technical and financial comparisons. * Develop and continuously update cost databases. * Conduct variance analysis between estimated and actual costs. * Support project management teams in cost monitoring and control. * Utilize estimation software and tools such as Excel, Primavera, or specialized applications. * Prepare periodic reports and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce costs. **Qualifications and Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical) or Construction Management. * 3–8 years of experience in cost estimation (preferably within the same sector). * Strong experience in reading engineering drawings and technical specifications. * Knowledge of local and international market prices for materials and services. * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning software (e.g., Primavera P6\). * Strong analytical skills and numerical accuracy. * English language proficiency (Arabic is an added advantage). **Core Competencies:** * Financial analysis and cost management. * Negotiation and supplier management skills. * Time management and adherence to deadlines. * Effective communication and teamwork abilities. * Critical thinking and decision-making. **Additional Preferences (Desirable):** * Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. * Professional certifications such as: * CCP (Certified Cost Professional) * PMP (Project Management Professional) * Experience in EPC projects or large-scale projects. **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):** * Accuracy of estimates versus actual costs. * Bid win rate. * Adherence to tender submission timelines. * Reduction in cost variances.
