Effectively coordinating with project and engineering teams **Senior Procurement Engineer (Construction)** **Job Purpose:** To manage and execute procurement of materials, equipment, and services for construction projects, ensuring optimal quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery to support efficient project execution. **Key Responsibilities:** * Preparing and implementing procurement plans for construction projects. * Analyzing purchase requisitions (PRs) and reviewing technical specifications. * Sourcing, evaluating, and approving suppliers and contractors. * Issuing requests for quotations (RFQs) and conducting technical and financial bid comparisons. * Negotiating with suppliers to secure best pricing and terms. * Issuing purchase orders (POs) and monitoring supply deliveries. * Coordinating with project and engineering teams to ensure material compliance with specifications. * Tracking delivery schedules and ensuring adherence to timelines. * Resolving supply-related issues, delays, or quality concerns. * Preparing and submitting procurement reports to management. * Ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in the Sultanate of Oman. **Required Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent). * Minimum 7–12 years’ experience in procurement within the construction sector. * Strong knowledge of construction materials and specifications. * Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle). * Solid understanding of procurement contracts and supply terms. **Required Skills:** * Strong negotiation skills. * Bid analysis and evaluation capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. * High organizational and time management skills. * Effective communication skills with suppliers and internal teams. * High attention to detail and accuracy. **Work Environment:** * Office-based work at project sites and construction locations. * Continuous coordination with suppliers and contractors. * Field visits to project sites may be required. **Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):** * Adherence to procurement budget. * Accuracy and quality of supplied materials. * On-time delivery compliance. * Reduction of procurement costs without compromising quality. * Supplier management efficiency.
