




**Position Summary** The UPS Technical Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of UPS systems, battery banks, and voltage stabilizers at customer sites. This role requires strong hands-on experience, good electrical knowledge, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently at the field level. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Installation & Commissioning * Install UPS systems of various capacities (single-phase and three-phase). * Install and connect battery banks, including VRLA/SMF batteries. * Install and configure voltage stabilizers and related electrical equipment. * Perform cable termination, panel connections, battery wiring, and breaker connections. * Ensure proper earthing, isolation, and load test procedures during commissioning. * Verify correct settings, calibrations, and system parameters before handover. 2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance * Conduct preventive maintenance for UPS and battery systems as per schedule. * Check battery health (voltage, internal resistance, specific gravity if applicable). * Identify and replace faulty components: rectifiers, inverters, fans, controllers, breakers, batteries. * Respond to emergency breakdown calls and carry out corrective maintenance. * Validate alarms, logs, and event history to detect issues. * Maintain stability and reliability of the UPS power environment. 3. Troubleshooting & Repair * Diagnose issues in UPS systems (no output, bypass failure, charging failure, overheating). * Identify issues in battery banks (swollen batteries, leakage, imbalance, corrosion). * Troubleshoot stabilizers, AVR units, and power-related faults. * Coordinate with OEM support for advanced diagnostics when required. 4. Documentation & Reporting * Prepare installation reports, service reports, and preventive maintenance checklists. * Maintain accurate records of battery readings, system parameters, replacement parts, and site observations. * Provide feedback to the technical manager regarding recurring issues or component failures. * Ensure all documentation is completed and shared on time after each site visit. 5. Safety & Coordination * Follow all electrical safety and HSE guidelines at site. * Use PPE, tools, and testing instruments safely (multimeter, clamp meter, IR tester). * Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and customers for scheduling site visits. * Guide junior technicians if required. **Qualifications & Experience** * Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent * Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of: UPS systems (static UPS preferred) Battery banks (12V SMF, VRLA, tubular) Stabilizers / Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) **Preference:** * Candidates with GCC or Oman experience will be given priority. **Technical Skills Required** * Strong understanding of electrical power systems and single/three-phase connections. * Ability to read UPS wiring diagrams, SLDs, and installation manuals. * Experience in battery configuration (series, parallel, battery racks, DC bus connections). * Understanding of safety procedures for handling batteries and high-voltage systems. * Skilled in using electrical testing tools for diagnostics. * Basic knowledge of generator-UPS synchronization and bypass operations is an advantage. * Familiarity with branded UPS systems (Ablerex, APC, Emerson, ABB, etc.) preferred. **Soft Skills** * Good communication and customer-handling skills. * Ability to work independently under pressure. * Strong problem-solving mindset. * Time management and professional reporting ability. * Positive, reliable, and safety-conscious. **Location** * Base Location: Muscat, Oman * Site Visits: Required across Muscat and other regions in Oman * Salary: As per company policy / discussed during interview * Reporting To: Technical Manager / Service Team Lead Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From RO300.000 per month Education: * Diploma (Preferred) Experience: * UPS systems (static UPS preferred): 3 years (Preferred) * Battery banks (12V SMF, VRLA, tubular): 3 years (Preferred) * Stabilizers / Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR): 3 years (Preferred) * GCC or Oman: 3 years (Preferred) * Electrical power systems and single/three-phase connections: 3 years (Preferred) * UPS wiring diagrams, SLDs, and installation manuals: 3 years (Preferred) * Battery configuration: 3 years (Preferred) * Branded UPS systems: 3 years (Preferred)
