Protection Engineer who will be responsible for managing Protection activities for projects shall undertake the following actions * Conduct Witness test relay functional test for determining correct operation and sign off the relevant documents. Make appropriate recommendation/resolution for mitigation to Operations, and report to line manager. * Perform system studies, provide protection requirements for design, review and sign off one\-line, elementary, logic diagrams and work with other discipline engineers \- substation engineers, Distribution Field engineers, project engineers, apparatus engineers \- to support sub transmission and distribution substation expansion, substation automation and infrastructure replacement projects. * Gather and evaluate line data of transmission, sub\-transmission, distribution systems, transformer test data, switchgear date, etc. Model systems on appropriate software tool, such as CAPE, perform short circuit studies, and protection coordination studies necessary for completing relay settings, perform relay settings, prepare protection summary, and coordinate relay settings with protection departments. * Issue Substation Relays and field Auto recloser settings via relevant relay database to the field, support Test technicians in\-servicing or commissioning relay settings, review/approve returned as\-left relay setting files, and communicate with Test technicians for making revisions/changes to relay settings as necessary. * Drive, Support and Contribute to innovative projects/initiatives such as Protection impact studies due to Distributed Energy Resources (Micro grid, Battery Storage, etc.,), Downed Conductor detection, Arc flash fault duties and Grid Modernization efforts. * Ability to analyse information, perform engineering assessments and evaluations and provide reports and recommendations to internal clients and project team members. * Experience using application software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project. * Analyse post\-fault event using historical data such as DFR traces, digital relay records, or related data. * Support and Reviews advanced power system analyses. * Performs field inspections and provides professional field support as necessary during construction phases. * Performs investigation of material and system failures * On site commissioning, testing and support * Other relevant duties assigned by client. * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. * Professional engineering license preferred. * In\-depth knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards. * Proven experience in project management and team leadership. **Imagine a better future for you and a better future for us all.** Work on landmark projects around the world and embrace opportunities to make an even bigger impact in the communities you care about.
