Sultanate of Oman
**Job Summary:**
The Senior Hydrogeological Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing groundwater-related studies—including water resource assessment, groundwater flow analysis, and ensuring its sustainable use in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards in the Sultanate of Oman.
**Responsibilities and Duties:**
* Conducting hydrogeological studies and analyzing aquifer characteristics.
* Designing and implementing well-drilling programs and pumping tests.
* Developing mathematical models to simulate groundwater flow and quality.
* Assessing groundwater reserves and providing recommendations for their sustainable management.
* Preparing technical and environmental reports in accordance with local and international standards.
* Supervising fieldwork teams and ensuring efficient execution of tasks.
* Coordinating with government authorities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
* Reviewing water quality data and identifying potential pollution sources.
* Supporting infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, dams, and construction projects) from a groundwater perspective.
* Adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum 8–12 years of experience in groundwater, preferably in Gulf countries.
* Experience using modeling software such as MODFLOW or equivalent.
* Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations in the Sultanate of Oman.
* Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
* Proficiency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

Salary: OMR 30,000.000 per month
