Efficient supervision of field work teams **Senior Hydrogeological Engineer** **Location:** Sultanate of Oman **Job Summary:** A Senior Hydrogeological Engineer is responsible for planning, managing, and implementing groundwater-related studies, including water resource assessment, groundwater flow analysis, and ensuring sustainable utilization in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards in the Sultanate of Oman. **Duties and Responsibilities:** * Conduct hydrogeological studies and analyze aquifer characteristics. * Design and implement well drilling programs and pumping tests. * Develop mathematical models to simulate groundwater flow and quality. * Assess groundwater reserves and provide recommendations for their sustainable management. * Prepare technical and environmental reports in accordance with local and international standards. * Supervise field work teams and ensure efficient execution of tasks. * Coordinate with government authorities such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources. * Review water quality data and identify potential pollution sources. * Support infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, dams, and construction projects) from a groundwater perspective. * Adhere to occupational health and safety procedures. **Qualifications and Requirements:** * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. * Minimum 8–12 years of experience in groundwater, preferably in Gulf countries. * Experience using modeling software such as MODFLOW or equivalent. * Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations in the Sultanate of Oman. * Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability. * Proficiency in English (spoken and written); Arabic language knowledge is an added advantage. * Excellent communication and team leadership skills. **Required Skills:** * Analysis of hydrological and geophysical data. * Project management and strategic planning. * Preparation of technical reports and presentations. * Ability to work in field environments and under pressure.
