The AMO Engineer\-I supports Wireline Services maintenance operations by applying basic engineering principles and technical knowledge to the repair, maintenance, calibration, inspection, and testing of Wireline equipment. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and supervisors, the engineer develops technical competence while ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes safety, quality, and operational standards. This role is designed as an entry point into the Wireline AMO engineering career path with a strong focus on training, competency development, and operational excellence.
As **AMO Engineer I \- Wireline Services**, you will also be responsible for:
* Support maintenance, repair, inspection, calibration, and testing activities on Wireline downhole and surface equipment.
* Assist in preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and availability.
* Participate in troubleshooting and failure investigations under supervision. Follow maintenance procedures, technical manuals, and quality processes.
* Ensure maintenance records, work orders, and equipment documentation are accurately completed.
* Support workshop inventory control, spare parts management, and asset tracking. Participate in equipment function testing and readiness checks before deployment.
* Assist with implementation of 6S, continuous improvement, and Lean initiatives within the workshop.
* Comply with all HSE, quality, and company policies. Participate in audits, risk assessments, and corrective action programs. Support workshop readiness and facility improvement activities.
* Complete assigned technical training, competency assessments, and on\-the\-job training requirements.
Learning \& Development Expectations
* Complete mandatory onboarding and training programs. Develop competency in Wireline maintenance fundamentals.
* Gain proficiency in hand tools, measuring instruments, torque equipment, multimeters, and insulation testers.
* Learn equipment maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and function testing processes.
* Progress through AMO Engineer competency requirements and qualification assessments. Demonstrate safe work practices and continuous learning mindset.
**Fuel your passion!**
To be successful in this role you will:
* Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline.
* 0–3 years of relevant maintenance or engineering experience. Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities. Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Preferred Qualification:
* Internship or industrial experience in oilfield services, manufacturing, maintenance, or reliability engineering.
* Knowledge of maintenance management systems, SAP, or similar software. Familiarity with HSE practices and risk assessment processes.
