Remote Contract Civil Draughtsman – 2D \& 3D Position: Civil Draughtsman / 2D \& 3D CAD Draughtsman Employment Type: Remote / Contract / Task\-Based Payment: Payment will be based on the task, scope, and complexity of the work provided. Job Description We are looking for an experienced and reliable Civil Draughtsman to work with us on a remote, contract, task\-based basis. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate 2D and 3D drawings, sections, elevations, as\-built drawings, quantity take\-offs, 3D models, and other construction\-related technical drawings based on information provided by our engineers, surveyors, and site team. The work will be assigned on a task\-by\-task basis, and payment will be agreed according to the scope and complexity of each task. Key Responsibilities 2D Drafting \& Construction Drawings \- Prepare accurate plan, section, and elevation drawings. \- Prepare detailed construction and engineering drawings. \- Prepare as\-built drawings based on actual site conditions and survey information. \- Convert sketches, marked\-up drawings, survey information, and site measurements into professional CAD drawings. \- Prepare cross\-sections and longitudinal sections for roads, earthworks, excavation, and other civil works. \- Prepare construction details and shop drawings when required. \- Revise and update drawings according to engineers' and project management's comments. \- Maintain proper drawing standards, dimensions, annotations, layers, scales, and layouts. \- Prepare drawings suitable for submission, printing, and project documentation. 3D Modelling \& Drawings \- Prepare 3D drawings and 3D models for civil and construction projects. \- Develop 3D models of sites, roads, earthworks, structures, excavation, and other project components. \- Create 3D models based on 2D drawings, survey data, levels, coordinates, and site measurements. \- Prepare 3D views, sections, elevations, and visualizations where required. \- Develop and update existing and proposed 3D site models. \- Prepare 3D representations of actual site conditions for project documentation and planning. \- Make modifications to 3D models based on design changes and updated site information. \- Assist in extracting measurements and quantities from 3D models where applicable. Quantity Take\-Off \& Measurement \- Take quantities from drawings and sections. \- Prepare quantity take\-offs for excavation, filling, earthworks, concrete, structures, roads, and other civil works. \- Calculate quantities from plans, sections, elevations, levels, and 3D models. \- Assist in preparing BOQ\-related measurements. \- Calculate earthwork quantities such as cut, fill, excavation, and embankment volumes. \- Compare quantities between drawings, as\-built information, and actual site data. \- Identify discrepancies in drawings, quantities, and measurements. Survey \& As\-Built Work \- Work with survey data, coordinates, levels, and measurements provided by the surveyor. \- Prepare drawings based on survey information. \- Develop existing ground and proposed\-level drawings/models. \- Prepare as\-built drawings based on actual site measurements. \- Assist in checking differences between design and actual site conditions. File Management \& Coordination \- Maintain organized CAD and project files. \- Maintain proper drawing revisions and version control. \- Coordinate remotely with engineers, surveyors, site personnel, and management. \- Clarify technical requirements before starting assigned tasks. \- Complete assigned work within the agreed deadline. \- Perform other drafting, modelling, measurement, and quantity\-related tasks as required. Required Skills \- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and 2D drafting. \- Good practical knowledge of 3D CAD modelling. \- Ability to read and understand civil engineering and construction drawings. \- Strong understanding of plans, sections, elevations, levels, dimensions, and scales. \- Ability to prepare accurate quantity take\-offs. \- Ability to work with survey data, coordinates, levels, and site measurements. \- Good understanding of earthworks, excavation, filling, roads, and general civil construction. \- Strong attention to detail and accuracy. \- Ability to work independently and remotely. \- Good communication and responsiveness. \- Ability to meet agreed deadlines. Software Skills Experience with the following software will be considered: \- AutoCAD \- Civil 3D \- SketchUp \- Revit \- Microsoft Excel \- Other relevant CAD, BIM, surveying, quantity take\-off, or 3D modelling software. Strong AutoCAD and 3D modelling skills are required. Knowledge of Civil 3D will be an added advantage. Preferred Qualifications \& Experience \- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting, Engineering Drafting, or a related field. \- Previous experience as a Civil Draughtsman / CAD Draughtsman. \- Experience in construction, earthworks, roads, infrastructure, or similar projects is preferred. \- Experience preparing as\-built drawings and quantity take\-offs. \- Experience working with survey data and levels is an advantage. \- A portfolio or samples of previous 2D and 3D work may be requested. Work Arrangement \- Fully Remote \- Contract\-Based \- Task\-Based Work \- No fixed monthly salary. \- Payment will be agreed per task/project based on scope and complexity. \- The volume of work may vary depending on project requirements. \- Tasks will be assigned with the required information, drawings, measurements, or instructions. \- The Draughtsman must complete each task accurately and within the agreed timeframe.
