To strengthen our technical leadership team in Muscat, we are seeking an experienced **Principal Petroleum Chemist** to oversee laboratory operations and drive research initiatives. Role Overview The **Principal Petroleum Chemist** will be responsible for leading petroleum chemistry projects, managing laboratory teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to translate complex chemical data into actionable insights for clients and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities * Lead petroleum chemistry research and testing projects. * Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance. * Develop methodologies for analyzing crude oil, refined products, and petrochemicals. * Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support production and refining processes. * Provide expert guidance on chemical treatment, corrosion control, and product quality. * Prepare detailed technical reports and present findings to senior leadership and clients. * Mentor and train laboratory staff to achieve technical excellence. * Drive innovation in petroleum chemistry practices and technologies. Qualifications * PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. * 12\+ years of experience in petroleum chemistry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. * Proven expertise in crude oil characterization, refining chemistry, and petrochemical analysis. * Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and safety protocols. * Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. * Fluency in English; Arabic is a strong advantage.
